Product Design at Hawaiian Airlines
Monday, August 29 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm HST| Free
This session is for any designer looking to learn about product design or current product designers looking to compare notes.
The product design team at Hawaiian Airlines contributes to projects that involve booking flights, checking in to flights, managing trips, and more. New features must be designed for different channels: a responsive website, a mobile app, and airport kiosks. Product features are released with overlapping timelines. Product managers, analysts, and developers are distributed throughout the islands, the mainland, and overseas. Designing for a large organization in a highly competitive industry can be overwhelming.
Learn how the team uses Figma and design system methodologies to design efficiently, meet deadlines, and hand off organized deliverables to developers.
David Chatsuthiphan is a product designer and design manager. He is co-owner of Mantle, a Hawaii-based product design and development agency, where he operates as the principal product designer. His work includes projects for industry-leading Hawaii organizations such as Hawaiian Airlines, Bank of Hawaii, Island Insurance, PBS Hawaii, Locations Hawaii, and Honolulu Civil Beat. Currently, David and his design team at Mantle spend most of their time designing web apps, mobile interfaces, and design systems for Hawaiian Airlines.
